What we
collect.
Short version: nothing at all until you say yes, and even then only counts of pages and clicks. If you said no, the analytics script is not on this page.

The answer is kept in this browser only, in one localStorage entry calledwrw.consent.v1. It holds the word yes or no and the date. It has no identifier in it and it is never sent anywhere. Clearing your browser data clears it, and then you are asked again.
If you say no
No analytics script is fetched, no analytics cookie is set, and nothing about your visit is sent to Google. Everything on the site keeps working: the book, the sign-up, the contact form, all of it. Nothing here is behind the banner.
Any _ga cookie left over from an earlier yes is deleted at the moment you say no.
If you say yes: Google Analytics
Google Ireland Limited (Google Analytics 4). Only then doesgoogletagmanager.com load and set the _ga cookies, which give your browser a random id so a second page counts as the same visit. GA4 truncates the IP address before storing it and we have not turned on Google signals, advertising features or any cross-site profile. We do not run ads and we do not sell anything to anybody.
What is recorded is counts, and this is all of it:
- Which pages were opened, and when.
- Where you arrived from: the search engine or site that linked here.
- Country, browser, and whether it was a phone or a desktop. Not a street address.
- Whether the sign-up was opened, typed into, submitted, and whether it worked or failed. The email address itself is never sent to Google.
- Whether the book pages were opened and how many were looked at.
- Clicks on links that leave the site.
Kept for 14 months, then deleted. Google’s own terms:policies.google.com/privacy.
Cloudflare, on every visit
Cloudflare, Inc. serves this site and sits in front of it. It sees your IP address the way any web server does, because that is how a page reaches you, and it keeps short-lived security logs. This is not optional and it is not analytics: without it there is no site to load.
The two forms are checked by Cloudflare Turnstile before they are accepted, which is what stops the mailbox filling with bots. It runs whether or not you said yes to analytics, because a form with no bot check is a form that stops working. Turnstile is a privacy-preserving check: no tracking cookie, no profile.
MailerLite, only if you sign up
MailerLite (UAB “MailerLite”, Lithuania) holds the mailing list and sends the book. If you leave your email, that address, the book you asked for and the link to it go to MailerLite. Nothing goes there if you do not sign up.
Every email has an unsubscribe link and it is a real one. Want the address deleted outright rather than unsubscribed, or want to know what is held about you? Say so on thecontact page and it is done.
The contact form
What you write becomes an email in our mailbox atMigadu (Switzerland), with your address set as the reply-to so we can answer you. It is not put in a database and it is not added to the mailing list. Your IP address is in the footer of that email, which is what makes abuse traceable.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you can ask for a copy of what is held about you, ask for it corrected, ask for it deleted, and object to it being processed at all. Ask on thecontact page. There is one mailbox and it is read by a person.
The lawful basis for analytics is your consent, and you can withdraw it above at any time without giving a reason. The lawful basis for the mailing list is your consent when you sign up. The lawful basis for serving and defending the site is legitimate interest.
